GALLERY 7 - Mehmedi Carpets
Mehmedi carpets are woven on the west coast of Turkey in a famous district called Bergama.
They are characterized by their short pile and exquisite dark red and indigo colors.
MEHMEDI carpets have a luster commonly found in only silk carpets. This is due to the fine, silky wool used.
These carpets were first sold on the Silk Road to Istanbul in the 15th century.
These are representative MEHMEDI carpets that may still be in stock and may be purchased (see order details), or we have similar rugs that can be pulled. This gallery helps you to identify the 'look' that you are seeking,
so tell us what you like. We have a broad selection of colors and sizes! Please contact us with your specific requirements.
